She earned her PhD in Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she specialized in implementing and analyzing coupled ocean-sediment numerical models for Arctic continental shelves. Her research examines the influence of waves and diverse sediment sources on suspended sediment fluxes in ice-free periods.
